Sisters of Mercy from the Mid-Atlantic Community make
a difference wherever they live and work.

Thirty years ago, Sister Mary Scullion persuaded Philadelphia officials to open an emergency winter shelter for people who lived on the streets in Philadelphia. Today, as the director of Project H.O.M.E., a nationally recognized organization in Philadelphia that provides supportive housing, employment, education and health care to people who are homeless or low income, Mary, a Sister of Mercy, touches the lives of over 1,000 people in need and treats these individuals with mercy, dignity, and respect.

Sister Mary was featured on the front page of The Philadelphia Inquirer on Sunday, April 18. Click this link to read the article: http://www.philly.com/philly/news/homepage/20100418_Mary_of_mercy.html
