Justice

The Fourth Institute Chapter held in Laredo, TX, in 2005, called us to intensify our responses to the critical needs of our times. Our challenge — to foster a contemplative spirit, to be moved to conversion of heart and to act in solidarity with our brothers and sisters throughout the earth to bring about a more merciful and just world.

Our identity as Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates, and our call to Justice, impels us to view our Critical Concerns through the lens of identity.

Critical Concerns identified were:
Caring for Earth
Immigration
Eradicating Racism
Practicing Non-Violence
Promoting Women
