Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Johanna McLoughlin, age 90, of the Mid-Atlantic Community, who died yesterday, Sept. 3, 2010 at Maria Regina Residence in Brentwood, NY.  Sister Johanna will be remembered as a founding mother of Holy Trinity High School in Hicksville, NY, and for the love of her students and involvement in their activities.

Her funeral arrangements are as follows:

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Mary Monica Pullman, Age 88, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community, who died Sunday August 29, 2010, in Absecon, New Jersey. Sister Monica taught 40 years as an elementary school teacher in the Camden, Metuchen, and Trenton dioceses and 20 years in special education at McAuley School for Exceptional Children in Watchung. Before retiring she became the Director of the McAuley Hall Prayer Guild for several years.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Martha Stoudt, Age 91, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community, who died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at McAuley Convent in Merion, PA. Sister Martha taught in elementary education and higher education for 13 years, and she was treasurer for Gwynedd-Mercy College and the former Merion Community for 12 years. She also served in various ministries at Gwynedd-Mercy College from 1968 to 1985 and in the treasurer’s office of Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School from 1985 to 1998. Sister Martha will be remembered for her gentleness, her spirituality and welcoming spirit to all.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Mary Celeste Matthews, RSM, Age 84, a member of the Mid-Atlantic Community, who died Wednesday, August 11, in Dallas, PA. A Sister of Mercy for 64 years, Sister Celeste taught on the elementary and secondary levels for 38 years including 6 years at Our Lady of Mercy Academy and 10 years in Panama. She also worked for 11 years in parishes in Great Neck and Brentwood, NY, ministering to the Hispanic community. She was the last of the three Matthews sisters to enter the Sisters of Mercy.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bettie Pilkington, mother of Madeline Yerger, executive assistant for the Mid-Atlantic Community’s leadership team at the Merion administrative office. Bettie died Thursday, September 2. Funeral arrangements are pending.
