Mid-Atlantic Sister Marie Michele Donnelly, RSM, (far left) facilitated a discussion about nonviolent communications after presenter, Kathryn Getek Soltis, PhD, (center) spoke about the theological foundations of nonviolence at the Mid-Atlantic Community's Theological Education Day on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Over 305 sisters across the Institute watched the webcast of the Mid-Atlantic Community's Theological Education Day on Saturday, April 15, 2018, which was featured on the Institute's Facebook page. Kathryn Getek Soltis, the director of the Peace and Justice Center at Villanova University and assistant professor of Christian ethics, presented the Theological Foundations of Nonviolence in the morning, and Mid-Atlantic member Marie Michele Donnelly, RSM, facilitated a discussion about nonviolent communications in the afternoon. Materials Used to Prepare for Theological Education Day
The Spirituality Committee/Theology Work Group of the Mid-Atlantic Community focused this year's event around the question: How Can We Best Live Out Our Commitment to Non-violence? The presenter for the day was Kathryn Getek Soltis, the director of the Center for Peace and Justice and assistant professor of Christian Ethics at Villanova University. Her topic was the "Theological Foundations of Commitment to Nonviolence." In preparation for the meeting, the following materials were provided: Theological Education Preparatory Materials and "Why Nonviolence?" by Diane Guerin, RSM, in the March/April ¡Viva!
