On May 15, 2019, over 110 people gathered at the Yale Club in New York City to celebrate the 20th Annual Evening of Mercy. This fundraising event honored John F. Tully, Esq., this year’s recipient of the Good Samaritan Award. Born in Brooklyn and a grandchild of Irish immigrants, John currently serves as the chairman of the board of directors of the Emerald Isle Immigration Center in New York where he blends his love of his Irish heritage and his passion for community service and education with his legal expertise and leadership skills. His work with immigrants closely aligns with the Sisters of Mercy’s mission to serve, advocate and pray with those in need around the world. Also recognized were the past and present members of the event’s Mercy Development Advisory Board, including Sisters Carol Conly, RSM, Camille D’Arienzo, RSM, and Kathleen Quinn, RSM. Over the past 20 years, this event has raised $1.8 million. Although this was the final Evening of Mercy, the mission of the Sisters of Mercy will continue in New York and beyond. Here is a link to photos from the event. (You will need the password mercy1831.)
